- Social media listening, including a social media audit
- Building buyer personas for social media
- Platform evaluation
- Content development
- Process/calendar creation
- Social media strategy, including analytics
Business Requirements
- Local Small Business or Nonprofit – Cleveland or Northeast Ohio
- Ability to meet with students 4 times for 1-2 hours including project/business overview, milestone reviews, final presentation
- Answer emails with questions at least 1/week over a 16 week period
- Have a desire to implement social media marketing into their business long term and/or have the desire to review and consider different social media marketing strategies

- Gather information on the business and brand. Collect details such as the tagline, logos, mission/vision, brand description, products/services, goals, history/story, and founders.
- Create 3 SMART goals with objectives for the Social Media Strategy.
- Conduct an analysis of the business and its competitors on the internet, focusing primarily on social media.
- Collect all URLs for the business’s social platforms and document how and what they are posting.
- Collect the same information for at least 3 competitors.
- Analyze the results to identify best practices.
- Understand your audience to develop a successful social media strategy.
- Create buyer personas to gain unique insights and direction for targeting each element of the promotional mix.
- Summarize the key content themes for the social media strategy.
- Develop a content calendar for 1-3 months.
- Create a spreadsheet for measuring the goals and objectives.
- Present the complete project using PowerPoint.
- Submit the final Social Media Strategy document as one complete workbook.
