Buyer Personas
Social Media is a great place to conduct research about your customers or potential customers. The research allows a business to create buyer personas. Buyer Personas are fictional representations of your customer allowing you to customize content, needs, and behaviors to different groups. Taking target marketing one step farther and the payoff is worth it, see the infographic below. Start defining Buyer Personas by researching the following about your customer. Start an excel spreadsheet to keep track of your research for each of these categories. 1. Demographics - Where do they live, age, gender 2. What are their interests 3. What are their careers, education, income? 4. Buying Motivations? 5. Buying concerns? 6. Favorite websites and platforms? 7. Competitors – Similiar Web Finding this information is simple but may take some time. You can start with googling keywords you think the customers are using, going on each platform and joining groups or following key influencers. Google trends or Google alerts also help monitor customers. I have a feedly.com account so I can keep track of the blogs, news and websites I follow in one place. Once you have some research you can group similar characteristics then describe and name similar personas. Look for similarities on who they are, what they do, why they do it and how they do it. Adding a fictional name and a picture helps you remember the persona. Below you will find an example. Remember take your time creating buyer personas and be willing to edit personas as you continue to research and learn about your customers. Share the persona you have created. This blog is based on this week's project on RVs.

My blog post will be geared towards this weeks assignment regarding RV living, but instead of RV living I'm going to talk about vintage trailer camping. Which is very popular right now.

The research that would need to be completed would be to identify who are your potential buyers, what they do for a living, why they do what they do and how they do it. Learning about your current buyers or potential buyers would allow one to target their marketing to the right group of people. The buyer persona marketing would allow a company to target specific types of people, certain ages or a particular activity that would increase the profitability of the business. The buyer persona eliminates the one size fits all marketing method.

The research I would need in order to identify a buyer persona for my business specifically would include really focusing on the age range of my buyers, their income, area I locate to once I am a store front rather then primarily online, and what they need in my product. Since I plan on having a customization business I would really need to figure out how to tailor my goods to the age range (ex. adults may prefer clothing that may have customized adult humor, children may desire having customized decals for their iPods or school supplies, teenagers may prefer customized bags for school for their after school activities so they don't mix up their items with their team mates). Income/area based income is huge at considering as well especially in customization which I need to consider. As an example, I have noticed a difference in pricing in customized antique furniture stores I have gone to in Cleveland and/or Parma in comparison to stores I have gone to in Chagrin Falls and/or Hudson. A piece priced in the lower income areas will go for $150, but, in higher income areas they were priced as high as $450-$500 and the piece of furniture, paint, and finish were similar in quality. I will also need to establish what is needed in my customizations in both colors, materials, fonts, sizes, time frames, quality, etc. Considering these factors allow you to figure out which media platforms are best to utilize (especially once you establish what age range you are primarily selling to so I believe this will be most helpful). You also can figure out the best way to approach sales through social media through social media (ex. if you have those in their 50's+ that are your main buyers, you should be mindful of making navigation easy through your media platforms, mindful of terminology, make everything clean/organized, make it simple as it may not be as easy for those who may not utilize technology as often so navigation should be simple).

The research I would need in order to identify buyer personas would be take from my sales. Based on the sales I am able to customize my inventory each year to make it more personable to each of my customers. This also allows me to estimate roughly how much seed I will need annually to sell to my customers. The buyer persona marketing allows me to target specific customers which could increase my profits because I can personalize each customers order to fit them best.

The first thing to do when identifying persona would be to figure out the demographics of the people you are trying to reach, as well as the income, education, and interests of them. The buyer persona in social media marketing is used to determine which platforms would be most useful to reach the target customer. A persona can also be used to make sure that your business or product is appearing in the results for the key words they are searching online.

One should research the general backgrounds of the different demographics and what each demographic factor is spending their money on to identify a buyer’s persona. Is the demographic you’re trying to target possibly on a strict budget (i.e. in college, starting a family, retiring) and buying more needs versus wants? Are their wants more likely to be material goods, or experiences? This is all worth considering when building an ideal audience. I would then use my buyer’s persona I created for social media marketing to target potential consumers on the sites I think they are more likely to be active on. I also would use my buyer’s persona to decide whether or not I should be strictly professional, or have a more laid-back personnel on social media.

The first research I would do in creating a buyer persona would be into the demographics of the area. There is a lot of really good demographical information on the U.S Census website so that is where I would start. Once I had a good idea of what the demographic was, I would decide where my buyer would fall in that demographic and start researching more specifics from there. For instance I know that my town has several different Facebook groups about general news or buying and selling and events going on in the area. These pages would be great sources of information and I could even ask my own questions if I needed more specific info. The keyword search on Google Trends would also be very useful. I could use then use the buyer persona to create content that was specifically targeted at the group of people that I am trying most to reach. I can include good keywords, and use language that will engage that target audience the most. It can also help me to know what time of the year is best for marketing to certain groups on my social media platforms.

What type of research would you need to identify a buyer persona for a business? The type of research needed to identify a buyer persona for a business includes: Demographics (age, education, experience, gender, income, industry, location and status), Mindset (challenges, feelings, goals, interests and needs), and Keywords (phrases discussed or searched.) Additionally, it is helpful to know the consumer's preferred brands, their experience with technology, and their preferred method of obtaining information.

when identifying a buyer persona you will need alot of personal information. first their name, age and location along with a picture of the buyer. then their mindset. what types of products and services is the customer actually looking for. what are their goals and how are they feeling mentally. also what keywords would make your business come up in search first.

This is a really great way to take a moment and connect with your business. Being able to look at your past, present and future clients for just a moment by creating a "Buyer Persona" can easily help evaluate your business needs. Having a small Organizing & Cleaning business, I did this twice. I printed the "Buyer Persona Template" created one for my typical client. The second one was a "Buyer Persona-Group". I added the second one because spring is coming! The most magical time of year, the sun returns, we start to see color here again in Cleveland. It is one of the most motivating times for all types of people. Spring Cleaning Season. If you are like me, you just got very excited!

When conducting research to identify a buyer persona for a business there are many factors that need to be considered. Some information may be readily available like basic demographics, career, education, income, and personal interests. Some harder to find information would be buying motivations, buying concerns, and favorite websites or platforms. Once you have this information you can create the buyer persona. The buyer persona is particularly helpful in the design of a business' social media identity. The buyer persona can direct a business on how to build their social media to provide the greatest coverage to their target audience.

I chose to go outside of the box and do hair, someone who loves to try new styles. My buyer is a 35 year old woman named Ericka, who has a makeup line and is either at the warehouse or hosting a meeting to expand her brand. She is a hardworking woman who is never at home, her time is well spent trying to figure out her next move. She loves to be natural and to let her hair grow, she goes to a person who satisfy her needs of achieving her hair health.

Using the demographic of the area targeted would be a great first start in buyers persona for using selling a product or service. Seeing what type people are drawn to the product or service and go based off that would help the business grow more. Using the demographic in social media marketing by giving an option for customers in the different areas to grasp the idea of using the product or service that is being provided in their location.

To identify a buyer persona for a business, you would need to research more about who your customers/prospective customers are. Finding out basic information such as their age, gender, where they live, and their income level is important. You should research what social platforms your customers are most active on. You also need to research their interests, their pain points, and what they're already talking about. You would use this buyer persona in social media marketing to create content tailored to your audience, that would allow your business to join in on conversations happening on their favorite social platforms.

Identifying a buyer persona for a business requires companies to figure out what their customers will want. Companies will want to research age, gender, education, income, reason for buying, and reasons for concern. How the buyer persona would be used is to create products specifically for their targeted customers or audience. This would allow for the company to begin receiving feedback from their customers about the products, so they can begin to make the product even better.

First I will say that in reading the last semester's comments, most of their responses of the RV buyer personas were right on. I say this because many of the profiles above do a great job in accurately describing my parents, who are semi-retired and have both kids out of the house, and their friends who own RVs and love to camp any chance they get.

The research I would conduct first in building a buyer persona would be into the demographics of the area. The U.S Census website has a lot of amazing demographics, data and results easy to analyze and study. After studying the data and figuring out the demographics, I could easily see which category my buyers would fall into and start conducting more tools to help my business venture succeed. An example being the gym that I work with sends out weekly newsletters via email. This could send out messages and alerts on blast for hunderds of people to see.

The type of research that I would need to identify is the behaviors and backgrounds of my customers in order to understand predict or persuade their consumer habits. My business is in wholesale of various products on shopify so therefore the most important information I need is: 1) Demographics- which is the age, location, and gender. This is the most important because it's the first fundamentals of making a sale according to someones location, their age group, and gender. 2) Careers, education, and income- this is another big one to understand who you are trying to sell to and what level of education they have to the complexity and use of the device along with their income to understand their purchasing power and the nature/expenses of certain products I am trying to sell. 3) Competitors- who else is selling to my consumers and are they undercutting my price? I need to know this to understand how my competitors are reaching consumers, and what the prices are so that i'm not demanding more for the same products. The way I would use this information is through facebook and instagram also considering that a lot of the time they are personal blogs and people offer their personal information to everyone. Things such as their age, location, and gender which are put in their bio while actual interests and spending behaviors can be seen in posts and the hashtags they use.
