As Marketers, we need data. Data helps us understand our audience and the content that will resonate with them. Social Media analytics help measure how our activities are performing against objectives on different social media platforms. My 2 favorite measurements to get started with analytics are Reach and Conversion Rate. REACH is the followers (Twitter), fans (Facebook) and group members (LinkedIn) a business is able to acquire. TRAFFIC and CONVERSION RATE is how many visitors/customers you get to your website that come over from social media. These measures are easily available on each social media platform and google analytics. See website below for detailed instructions.

I googled the top analytical programs and it brought me to 8 of the best Social Media analytics Tools of 2018. Some of the suggested websites are free and some are up to $99.00 a month. One site that is free is Google+Analytics and Influence. This site lets you access and create reports and track specific social media campaigns. It measures your social ROI. You can see how much traffic comes to your website. There is also Adobe Analytics which is primarily for brands that need advanced segmentation and very specific sets of data. I might use this one if I am having any type of difficulty with my business. They have 3 different grades for this program. There is an ultimate program which does cross channel marketing.

Most social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube have their own ability to analyze your reach and rates through their built-in analytic platforms. Whether it’s Facebooks Insights, Pinterest, Twitter or YouTube Analytics you can see the engagement of your posts with your audience through these free tools. Many detailed metrics are available to help you understand who is engaging with you and even give you demographics and locations from where. Some of these metrics also cover the number of viewers, likes, clicks, tweets and engagement on your brand or page. Some of the platforms like Pinterest can track the traffic from your posts to your business webpage. Through the analytics of YouTube you can who watched, how they found your video and if they click far enough to get to your business webpage.

Hootsuite which we have used in this class is an amazing tool for analytics of social medias. This app has the comparison and analysis of all channels of media that you register with them. For Twitter they have their own bit of analytics with the "Impressions" that are on each individual tweet. There are other free as well as paid for apps that can be used as tools for tracking the social media performance of your business. Tools like Followerwonk give you detailed breakdowns of you, or your followers activity, they can even tell you whenyour followers are online, when they are posting and where they fall in segments like followers count, total tweets, social activity etc. Viralwoot, a pinterest tool, can show you engagement on your posts, schedule posts, Pinfluence, activity, reach and how to improve your scores. Quintly is a Facebook analytics program that for free lets you add 3 facebook pages and compare them as well as follower growth, engagement metrics like comments and shares. Cyfe, Tailwind, Keyhole, Klout, Klear, Audiense, TweetReach, Peakfeed, SocialRank, WEBSTA, TalkWalker etc. are more metrics and analytics programs for your social media accounts and monitoring activity/performance/usage etc.

When you go online you can find many more websites to test your social media performance, many of which are even free. One such site called "Followerwonk" allow you t see stats like when your followers are online, when they typically post, and how your followers fall into categories like social authority, activity, total tweets, and follower count. Another such site known as "Viralwoot"shows you your influence, reach, activity, and engagement. These sites like many others would be helpful in gathering useful information about and from your customers allowing you to market more directly to them and their needs.

With a quick google search I came up with a few free social media tools that perform various functions. One of the more popular options and one that we have used in class is hootsuite which allows you to manage all of your accounts and includes a team management facility which can be helpful when more than one person manages the account. Some other ones include Twazzup, buzzumo, and tweetreach which can measure the impact of the social media discussions and can help pick out your most influential followers and guiding you towards the people you should be targeting.

I feel like any of the social media that you use you can track and see who has seen your post. Doesn't matter which one you use. Even snapchat you can see who has open and looked at it.

Third party social media platforms and analytics options available but there is a need for a tool that can cover all the aspects of social media analytics. Tools like Hoot-suite can provide various features like scheduling, collaboration, and reporting. This option can help in scheduling by using social media analysis on various channels. This can identify the target customers and segment them based on the business needs and carry out the social media analysis. Also, could help them in collaborating with different social media platforms and share the content to make it very effective. Tools like Google Analytics can help any companies in generating reports based on the company's business requirements. But with tools like Sprout Social, Hoot-suite this can help conduct the social media analysis along with the reporting. If a company has the requirement to do marketing on all the social media channels, so they can consider investing in a third party social media analytics tool.

I enjoy word press analytics. Owning a website, I use the word press package. In the word press package, they offer a variety of options to assist in keeping track of traffic. Another option is Yoast. Yoast allows you to track unique visitors. where each visit is coming from, what pages they spend time on and how long they are there. They also provide assistance with assuring your website, blogs or wordpress format is SEO friendly. I enjoy the program greatly.
